My career focus has always been public health. Prior to Shatterproof, he worked for the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where he led evaluation efforts for national sexual violence prevention programs. Given the growing addiction crisis, I have been instrumental in identifying system-level opportunities in behavioral health, especially addiction treatment policy, and driving sustainable and responsive improvements in this area. This effort led to my work at Shutterproof.
As Vice President of Treatment Quality and Strategy, one of my main priorities is the Treatment Atlas. I am responsible for the strategic direction of data collection and management for this innovative tool. My vision is for the Treatment Atlas to be the most comprehensive resource possible, empowering people to determine the appropriate treatment for themselves. I’m excited about what’s coming in 2023 and our growth priorities over the next 3-4-5 years.
The redesigned Treatment Atlas website is more user-friendly and provides a better experience for those seeking treatment. A built-in assessment tool helps you find treatment options based on your medical needs. Finding a treatment that meets your individual needs is important. The Treatment Atlas not only helps people find the best treatment for them, but also adheres to the National Treatment Principles. The website has been redesigned, making it easier to filter search results by available payment methods and view detailed facility information. We can also refer you to specific programs for those seeking support such as housing, employment, or childcare assistance. A summary of what each facility can offer is displayed on the results page to help you select the facility that’s right for you. Best of all, the Treatment Atlas is a free resource for anyone living in the United States.
To transform addiction care, we are also focused on improving access to quality care by engaging providers, states and insurance companies. These stakeholder groups can use Atlas data to pursue innovation in the addiction treatment space. Many of them are deeply committed to doing so, and providing them with the tools to make those changes further demonstrates our dedication to system-level solutions with leading companies in this space. I’m here.
We are excited to reinforce our commitment to providing quality care with the start of a redesign of our Treatment Atlas. All of this would not be possible without the generous support of our donors. Thank you for your commitment to helping and saving lives for those affected by substance use disorders.
