Dr. Ajani Nimmagadda is Cigna’s medical officer. She leads Cigna’s Specialty Pharmacy and Pharmacy Solutions and Cigna Health Plan’s Site of Care programs. She also serves as the company’s Senior Infectious Disease Physician Resource. Dr. Nimmagadda said she has been with Cigna since 2005.
Prior to joining Cigna, Dr. Nimagadda held private practice with LA Physicians Medical Group and was a clinical instructor at UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles. She worked as a consultant at the Tarzana Treatment Center for 10 years, providing clinical care for people living with HIV and substance use.
Dr. Nimmagadda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medicine and Surgery from Government General Hospital, Guntur, India, completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Grant Hospital, Chicago, and a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles. have completed Angeles. She is board certified in infectious diseases and is a diplomat for the American College of Internal Medicine. She also serves on the board of the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Care Foundation. The Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Care Foundation is a national organization dedicated to eradicating childhood cancer and providing hope and support to those affected by cancer.
